Convert
Change a file from one format to another. Video, audio, and images are all accepted.
Convert re-encodes a file into another format. Drop a file in, pick the output format, export. There are no other settings.
Press Convert file, then preview and download the result. Images show an image preview, audio has playback controls, and supported video formats have a video preview. Download MKV to view it in a compatible player. Replace file lets you choose another source after the operation finishes.
What converts into what
The list of output formats depends on what you uploaded.

A video can become audio, because it has an audio track to keep. Audio cannot become video, and an image cannot become a video file.
Encoding
Convert always exports at the highest of the three quality levels the media tools use.

GIF is the only picture format offered for video
PNG, JPEG, and WebP are offered for image input only, and they hold a single frame. A video can become a GIF, which keeps the motion.
Limits
- You need to be signed in. It does not spend credits.
- Uploads are capped at 50 MB.
- Up to 5 exports per minute.
- Conversion runs on the server, not in your browser. It stops at 4 minutes and 512 MB of output.
- The export drops the source file's metadata.
